Contains the records of a comb wholesaler with the amount, type, and cost by gross of combs sold to various merchants in the Boston area. The manuscript lists extensive inventories of all kinds of combs (Siamese pocket comb, vine top back comb, feather top comb, chain comb) in stock and provides an indication of the types of combs then in fashion with the wholesale price of each. The volume also contains apparently unrelated accounts of sales of apples and cider in the mid-1860s and some agricultural notes from 1872.
